MEET THE FOUNDERS

Gerardo Rosas, LPC-S

Gerardo Rosas serves as the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Associated Behavioral and Trauma Specialties, LLC (ABTS). He began his private practice journey in 2009 and has since become an active member of the mental health community of El Paso Texas.

 

Educationally, Gerardo holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso. His academic pursuits also led him to undertake postgraduate studies in Marriage and Family Therapy.

 

In his capacity as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Gerardo specializes in areas including complex traumatization, borderline personality, dissociative disorders, mood disorders, and couple therapy.

 

 

With a deep-seated foundation in the mental health sector since 1999, Gerardo Rosas has not only embraced the transformative EMDR therapy approach since 2010 but has also achieved distinction as a Certified EMDR therapist and an Approved Consultant. Furthermore, Gerardo is also a Basic EMDR Training facilitator, imparting his extensive knowledge to budding professionals.

 

His professional experience encompasses a wide spectrum: from community counseling, trauma treatment, and foster care interventions to roles within inpatient facilities and addiction treatment centers. Moreover, Gerardo has consistently worked within non-profit organizations, serving both as a clinician and an administrator.

Zul Estrada, LPC-S, RPT™

Zul Estrada stands as the distinguished Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder of Associated Behavioral and Trauma Specialties, LLC (ABTS) — a beacon for trauma treatment counseling. Holding the esteemed title of Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Texas, her clinical journey is enriched with over 11 years of hands-on experience, complemented by 9 prolific years in private practice.

 

A proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Zul acquired her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She further augmented her academic credentials with a Graduate degree from the University of Phoenix, majoring in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy.

 

Venturing into the mental health landscape in 2003, Zul's expertise spans across various sectors. She has profoundly impacted non-profit mental health and community agencies, delivering a comprehensive array of services encompassing case management, rehabilitation, skills training, and advocacy. Her dedication shines particularly bright in child welfare, where she has devoted over eleven years, focusing on the treatment and betterment of children in foster care.

 

Zul's specialization lies in addressing child complex traumatization. As an EMDR Certified therapist, Approved Consultant, and a Registered Play Therapist. With formal training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Zul embodies the spirit of continuous learning and dedication to the field.
